Position Summary:
The Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and servicing aircraft to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, engines, airframes, and associated components. The A&P Mechanic must adhere to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies to perform maintenance activities on a variety of aircraft types.
Primary duties include diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems, replacing defective parts, performing scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance, and ensuring all maintenance records are accurate and up to date. The A&P Mechanic plays a critical role in maintaining the highest safety standards and ensuring aircraft are airworthy and ready for operation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Inspections, servicing, and repairs of a complex nature on various aircraft systems and components
- Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and function test referencing manufacturer’s technical documents across a variety of airframe, engine and component systems
- Leads aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor
- Prepares and complete various documents for maintenance/modification record keeping purposes, as required by FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Dominion Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, and personal training logs (OJT)
- Proficiently and consistently locate and uses the appropriate technical data to accomplish any and all tasks
- Perform related duties, as assigned.

Other Requirements Include:
- Airframe & Powerplant Certificate required
- Ability to attain & retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus
- High school graduate or equivalency degree required
- Knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, 145
- Aircraft maintenance experience preferred
- Participate in rotation weekend on call
