Position Summary:
The Scrub Nurse / Scrub Tech is responsible for providing intraoperative support by maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and assisting the surgical team during operative procedures. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the operating room runs efficiently and safely, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or Nursing program (for Scrub Nurse).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred for Scrub Techs.
- Current RN license in the State of Texas (or compact state) required for Scrub Nurses.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- CNOR certification (for RNs) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) credential a plus.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred for Scrub Techs.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a surgical or sterile environment preferred.
- Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures and instrument handling is highly desirable.
- New graduates will be considered with appropriate clinical training and demonstrated aptitude.

- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move patients or equipment as needed.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
