CLASSIFICATION: STIPEND ($600/mo)


WestGate Church, a non-denominational, multi-congregational church situated in one of the most diverse and influential

regions of the world—the Silicon Valley— is seeking an energetic, skilled Musical Director to collaborate with the Worship

Director to execute outstanding services in alignment with our WG Weekend Playbook. Typical work (Sunday-Thursday) may

extend to occasional work on Fridays and Saturdays, along with evening hours.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Possesses a deep calling and passion for serving others through the ministry of worship.

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent

combination of education and experience.

• Exhibits expert knowledge in leading worship, rehearsing, band arranging and team building.

• Values teamwork, encouraging feedback, contributing to team morale, and fostering strong connections among team members.

• Exhibits personal and professional discernment and discretion.

• Demonstrates excellent time management skills, adept at balancing individual and team responsibilities while thriving in a

dynamic and flexible environment.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the Worship Band for Sunday HSM service.

• Recruit musicians as needed.

• Audition vocalists and instrumentalists.

• Be on top of rescheduling when cancellation happens.

• Help maintain the accuracy of the charts for new/old/original songs.

• Communicate with Worship Leaders to enhance flow and transitions on services.

• Run weekend band rehearsals.

• Interface with the Tech Director to discuss band needs and logistical considerations.

• Construct weekly band notes.

• Build and run stems and band cues using Ableton Live.

• Create Prompter files for weekend sets.

• Automate Ableton and Propresenter as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.
