Job Responsibilities


· Development of official database and API documentation, schemas, definitions/structure, change tracking, rules for use, change log publication, how/who table/API definitions change when needed and mitigation of impact on non-source development team utilization

· Coordinate database design and configuration with dev teams during programming project scoping

· Participate in development scoping, unit test design, QA, and similar aspects of the development lifecycle

· Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.

· Evaluate, implement, and train key technical users on ETL tools and procedures for data transformation and consolidation between environment

· Coordinate database performance testing and enhancements with development teams and QA.

· Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

· Configure and manage database backup and restore processes and procedures.

· Test and implement database engine upgrades and configuration enhancements.

· Design, test, and configure database and database systems redundancy, fault tolerance, scalability, and load balancing.

· Install and maintain the performance of database servers.

· Develop processes for optimizing and monitoring of database security.

· Set and maintain database standards.

· Manage database access.

· Performance tuning of database systems.

· Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.

· Create automation for repeating database tasks.


Education/Qualifications:


· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or related field or a combination of education and experience is required.

· Minimum 5 years business database engineering.

· Implementation, optimization, maintenance, advanced configuration, and support of Microsoft SQL

· Server and MySQL databases and environments

· Interaction with and support of development teams

· Database fault tolerance, replication, load balancing, high availability, and security engineering
