Senior Electrical Technician
Description

The Senior Electrical Technician will provide technical expertise in engineering technology and procedures for electrical and mechanical systems, supporting the disassembly, troubleshooting, repair, and reassembly of complex naval systems in accordance with established quality control standards.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Follow work control procedures for electrical and mechanical systems

• Document disassembly, troubleshooting, repair, and reassembly of mechanical and electrical systems

• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

• Use electrical tools and equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and soldering equipment

• Construct items as described in engineering drawings

• Document test data and quality check lists accurately and legibly

• Perform cabling and harness manufacturing in accordance with IPC-610 standard

• Conduct electrical systems and cabling inspection in accordance with IPC-620 standard

• Perform soldering of electrical components in accordance with standard J-STD-001


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Five years of experience in the field of engineering technology and engineering procedures, materials, and equipment, including following work control procedures and documenting the disassembly, troubleshooting, repair, and reassembly of mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with established quality control standards 


Required Skills:

• Engineering drawing interpretation

• Electrical tools and equipment operation (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment)

• Construction of items per engineering drawings

• Test data documentation and quality check list completion

• Cabling and harness manufacturing per IPC-610 standard

• Electrical systems and cabling inspection per IPC-620 standard

• Certification in soldering of electrical components in accordance with standard J-STD-001


Desired Skills: Additional experience with naval electrical systems


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, or Applied Technology. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline is also desirable. Trade school certification in electronics or electrical systems with relevant military or naval experience will be considered.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS 

Security Clearance: Required to access classified information up to the SECRET level 

Citizenship: United States citizens prior to being admitted to a Government facility

Background Check: As required for security clearance 

Travel Requirements: Required to travel to deployment locations in CONUS and OCONUS
