JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance & Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and correcting equipment malfunctions to ensure optimal operation.
CORE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose, test, and resolve equipment issues, using knowledge gained through MARS equipment operation and training, ensuring adherence to electrical and mechanical specifications.
- Utilize a balanced skill set of mechanical and electrical expertise to diagnose, test, and solve equipment issues, drawing upon comprehensive MARS equipment operation and training.
- Lead the mechanical assembly and electrical installation of MARS equipment, ensuring all components meet our rigorous quality standards.
- Maintain, install, and test mechanical and electrical aspects of equipment with precision, employing a variety of tools and techniques.
- Strategically plan and execute mechanical and electrical installations, adhering to job specifications and industry regulations.
- Engage with customers to provide exceptional mechanical and electrical support, installation services, and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
- Strong proficiency in both electrical and mechanical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Adept in the use of tools and techniques relevant to mechanical manufacturing and electrical fabrication facilities.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suites.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a track record of effective multitasking and problem-solving.
- Culturally sensitive with the ability to transition seamlessly between diverse tasks.
COMPETENCIES:
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, understanding of mechanical systems, and ability to perform mechanical repairs.
- Understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, circuitry, and electrical components.
- Ability to identify issues, analyze potential solutions, and implement effective fixes.
- Precision in performing tasks to ensure quality and safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Efficiency managing time to complete tasks within deadlines and prioritize workload.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in industrial electrical or mechanical technology preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience, ideally involving technical problem resolution.
- 5-7 years of combined experience in mechanical and electrical roles within a manufacturing environment or equivalent military experience.
- Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position
Work environment:
Work has frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions, occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Due to high degree of travel, other work environments not classified above may also be encountered.
Essential Physical Activities:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, and/or sit. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb, balance, pull and/or lift heavy objects, talk or hear; see up close, see far away, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Travel required:
Yes, up to 75% of the time to meet service requirements
Additional eligibility requirements:
- May be required to work overtime or alternative schedules based on project assignments.
- Must be able to operate a computer and associated software programs.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
