Job Type
Full-time
Description

Precision Security Team is a veteran-owned and operated company proudly serving northern Colorado and surrounding areas. Since our establishment in 2018, we have experienced remarkable growth, earning the trust of local government agencies, schools, critical infrastructure sites, event organizers, and more. Based in the region stretching from Denver, CO, to Cheyenne, WY, we are committed to excellence in security services.

We take pride in hiring veterans, former law enforcement personnel, and first responders and strongly encourage individuals with such backgrounds to apply. However, we are equally committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Precision Security Team is an equal-opportunity employer, and all candidates are evaluated based on their qualifications, without discrimination or bias.

As a School Security Officer at Precision Security Team, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the public at your assigned location. Your responsibilities will include addressing security concerns and handling requests as needed to ensure the safety and satisfaction of clients and the community.

Every Security Officer at Precision Security Team is entrusted with delivering an exceptional experience for our clients while safeguarding their interests. It is essential to uphold the company’s professional image at all times—whether interacting with clients, the public, or law enforcement.

As a member of our team, you are expected to embody and demonstrate Precision Security Team’s core values and code of conduct in all aspects of your work.

We are in search of a qualified professional for an Armed School Security Officer. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience in customer service, conflict intervention, and security or military service. Firearm experience is an imperative aspect of this position, so previous experience is required. If you are looking to work for a growing company that values and rewards hard work, integrity, and dedication, this is the right company for you!

Your schedule would be 7:30 am-4:00 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 40 hours due to an unpaid 30 minute lunch every day. Please do not apply if this does not work with your availability.

Anticipated start date is August 1, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications – Please Read Carefully Before Applying

We are seeking individuals who have demonstrated sound judgment, a commitment to safety, and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. While we welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds, this is not an entry-level role. If you do not have a proven track record in a related field, this position may not be the right fit.

  • 2-hour OC (pepper) spray certification
  • 2-hour basic defensive tactics / hand-to-hand course
  • 80 hours of intensive School Security Officer training designed to address the specific needs and dynamics of a school setting

We are dedicated to hiring professionals who can uphold the safety, trust, and integrity required in a school environment. If you're confident in your background and are committed to excellence, we welcome your application.

Precision Security Team or the client can assign other duties to you as necessary at any time.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Professional Firearms Experience: Demonstrated experience in the safe handling and operation of firearms, including proficiency in marksmanship, safety protocols, and weapon retention. Experience should reflect training or previous roles where the responsible use of firearms was required, such as law enforcement, military service, or certified security positions.

Adherence to Professional Grooming Standards: Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times, in accordance with company guidelines. This includes proper uniform wear, grooming, and presentation to reflect a high standard of professionalism when interacting with clients, school staff, and students.

Successful Completion of a Comprehensive Background Check: Must pass an extensive background check that includes criminal history, employment verification, and reference checks. This process is essential to ensure a safe and trustworthy environment within school settings.

Important Notes About the Application and Interview Process:

  • Screener questions are a critical part of the evaluation process. Responses will be scored based on completeness, clarity, proper grammar, and written communication.

  • We are looking for thoughtful, well-written answers that provide specific examples and demonstrate your qualifications and critical thinking.

Use the S.T.A.R. Technique: During the interview, we encourage you to use the S.T.A.R. method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to answer behavioral questions. This approach helps you organize your thoughts and communicate your experience in a structured, impactful way—giving us the best view of your skills and how you’ve applied them in real-world situations.

Professional Appearance: First impressions matter. For in-person interviews, please arrive on time, well-groomed, and dressed in clean, professional attire. A polished appearance shows respect for the opportunity and our team.

Should you advance past the interview stage, a conditional job offer may be extended. Upon acceptance, we will initiate a background check and begin the online onboarding process.

A Note About Communication: We will carefully review your application and contact you if we believe you are a strong match for the position. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we kindly ask that you do not call to inquire about your application status.

Please note: Failure to follow this instruction may result in disqualification, as it reflects an inability to follow directions—something we consider an important part of the role.

If you do not hear from us, please do not be discouraged or take it personally. We are committed to giving each application thoughtful consideration and selecting candidates who align best with the role’s specific needs.

Should you advance past the interview stage, a conditional job offer may be extended. Upon acceptance, we will initiate a background check and begin the online onboarding process.

PST adheres to a hands-off approach whenever possible, prioritizing verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques. The only instance where physical intervention is appropriate is if an individual poses an immediate physical threat to themselves, others, or you. Acceptable physical intervention techniques will be taught during our mandatory Phase I training.
