We’re looking for an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join our HR team in Austin. This role will serve as a trusted partner to both employees and leadership, with a focus on onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and HRIS administration. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and brings strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of HR best practices.

What you'll do:
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Manage full-cycle onboarding and new hire paperwork for all departments.
- Lead new hire orientation in both English and Spanish.
- Serve as a point of contact for new employees to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition.
Employee Relations & Support
- Respond to employee inquiries and concerns with professionalism, confidentiality, and care.
- Provide first-line employee relations support, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Serve as a key liaison to Spanish-speaking team members across multiple locations.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Conduct internal audits (e.g. I-9, certifications, safety compliance).
- Monitor adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain and communicate updated policies, ensuring accessibility and clarity for all team members.
HRIS & Data Management
- Maintain employee records and digital files in Paylocity and other HR systems.
- Ensure data accuracy across platforms and produce reports on KPIs, turnover, and workforce trends.
Leave & Payroll Coordination
- Track and document all employee leaves (e.g. sick, parental, medical).
- Partner with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate reporting and recordkeeping.
Culture & Recognition
- Own company-wide recognition programs (e.g. birthdays, anniversaries, life events).
- Promote employee engagement through thoughtful initiatives that celebrate team contributions.
Special Projects
- Contribute to broader HR projects that improve systems, culture, and communication across the company.
Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of HR experience, ideally in hospitality, restaurants, or a multi-unit setting
- Preferred but not required fluency in Spanish (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and compliance
- Experience managing onboarding, recognition programs, and employee relations
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Must be available on-call during select weekends
- Role requires regular computer use, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs
