Position Overview:

The Construction Operations Director will lead Exact Stormwater’s construction teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of stormwater-focused civil construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, building team capacity, and ensuring every project reflects the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct day-to-day construction operations across multiple stormwater projects

Collaborate with company leadership to align field operations with Exact Stormwater’s strategic vision and client commitments.

Establish and refine operational procedures, safety protocols, and quality control systems that scale with growth.

Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of project superintendents, foremen, and field crews.

Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, including DEQ, SWPPP, and erosion/sediment control guidelines.

Coordinate with clients, design teams, and internal departments to resolve issues proactively and maintain project momentum.

Champion a safety-first culture across all project sites and uphold Exact’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in civil construction with increasing levels of leadership responsibility, preferably in stormwater, grading, or environmental infrastructure.

Proven ability to lead teams on multi-phase, multi-jurisdictional construction projects.

Bachelor’s degree preferred (Education, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or related field); technical background in land or farm management a plus.

Current DEQ Responsible Land Disturber certification (Virginia) preferred.

Certifications: OSHA 30 and heavy equipment operation experience.

Tech-savvy with construction software, field documentation tools, and reporting platforms.

Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
