About the role
This role is perfect for someone who’s equally comfortable with numbers and people. About 60% of your time will go to selling and estimating your own projects, guiding clients from first visit to final installation. The other 40% will go to estimating for our other sales associates when they need extra support.

What you’ll do

Sales 

• Help clients choose flooring by explaining product features, benefits, and warranties
• Meet with clients in the showroom and build lasting relationships
• Sell flooring and installation services, and meet or exceed sales goals
• Write proposals and sales orders
• Follow each job through installation, visit job sites, and follow up with clients afterward

Estimating 

• Conduct field measurements
• Read construction drawings and perform material takeoffs using estimating software
• Request material and vendor pricing and prepare cost proposals and quotes in spreadsheets and Structure
• Deliver estimates and takeoffs on schedule

Team coordination

• Partner with admin on work orders and job schedules
• Coordinate with accounting to make sure payments are collected
• Use our database to check product availability and process orders
• Respond promptly and professionally to client requests and concerns

 What you bring

• 2+ years of experience in flooring estimating, flooring sales, or a related trade
• Ability to read construction drawings and perform takeoffs
• Experience with Structure, RFMS, or similar estimating software
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of flooring products and installation methods
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Work environment

• On-site at our Timonium, MD showroom, with travel to client sites across Maryland, Virginia, and DC
