Assistant Coach- Youth Sports

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in leading a challenging and educational practice session. 
  • Assist instruction of a group in accordance with YMCA guidelines and rules of the game. 
  • Uphold, model, teach and put the four (4) core values of the YMCA into action in all activities - everyday: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. 
  • Maintain good relationship with Students, parents and sports officials. 
  • Maintain professional appearance and report on time to all scheduled practices and games. 
  • Strive to develop the qualities of leadership, initiative and good judgement in all athletes. 
  • Develop habits that promote good health and sound training rules. 
  • Create a positive and nurturing learning environment to instill and encourage youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. 
  • Adhere to the directions given by the head coach and assist at all times. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Experience with teaching and/or playing sports. 
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations of sports. 
  • Flexible schedule 
  • Certifications: CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification. 
  • Previous experience working with children preferred. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards. 
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.

$16.53 per hour
