The Inside Sales Representative – Waterworks serves as a primary point of contact for customers seeking water, sewer, and storm drainage solutions. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive outreach, relationship-building, and technical product support.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the waterworks or infrastructure materials industry and be comfortable supporting customers with product selection, pricing, quoting, and order management. This individual will work closely with the outside sales and operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from inquiry through fulfillment.


Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to inbound customer inquiries
  • Generate and follow up on quotes for waterworks products
  • Provide product guidance and support on water, sewer, and drainage materials
  • Make outbound calls and send personalized emails to customers and prospective accounts
  • Enter quotes and orders into ERP/CRM systems
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records
  • Track and manage pipeline activity to support revenue growth
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion and repeat business
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely order processing and delivery
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales targets
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of waterworks products such as pipe, valves, fittings, hydrants, meters, and drainage materials preferred
  • Ability to learn and present technical product information clearly and confidently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills
  • Competitive, goal-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in waterworks, construction materials, or related industry preferred
  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and web conferencing tools

Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
