Job Overview

Maple Grove Senior Living is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-cared-for flooring throughout our senior living community while helping create a welcoming environment for residents, families, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain flooring throughout resident and common areas, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, and polishing. 
  • Safely operate and maintain floor-care equipment, including buffers and scrubbers. 
  • Follow proper procedures for cleaning chemicals, infection prevention, and workplace safety. 
  • Respond to spills and other cleaning needs promptly to maintain a safe environment. 
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and equipment and report maintenance or supply needs. 
  • Work collaboratively with Environmental Services and other facility departments. 
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness while respecting residents and their living environment.

Requirements

 

Requirements

  • Previous floor care, housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred. 
  • Experience operating floor buffers, scrubbers, polishers, and related equipment preferred. 
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning chemical handling and safety practices. 
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and time-management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, grip, push, and pull. 
  • Ability to lift, move, push, or pull 50 pounds or more as needed. 
  • Comfortable working in a healthcare environment and assisting with cleanup of spills and waste, including bodily waste.
