Our commitment to wellness and active living is reflected in our state-of-the-art Fitness Center- and we're looking for a Certified Personal Trainer to help our members reach their health, fitness, and wellness goals.


The Personal Trainer is responsible for conducting safe, innovative, and effective programming for members. They will work closely with the Fitness Center Director to develop fitness programs, activities and instruction that meet the needs of the membership while working alongside other staff members in order to teach, promote and ensure the quality of all fitness programs at WGCC.


  

Schedule & Availability: We are seeking a Personal Trainer with strong availability during afternoon and evening hours. Some early morning and weekend availability is also required. Flexibility is important, as our members have varying schedules and training needs. Preference will be given to candidates who are also qualified and interested in teaching group fitness classes.

Responsibilities:

  • Help schedule all activities and instructional programs for the Club
  • Maintain records of all private and group training sessions
  • Ensure all sessions are properly recorded and billed by the end of the day
  • Record all training sessions and classes on individual excel tracking sheet before end of the day
  • Greet members as they enter the facility and anticipate needs at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness in the Club at all times; including (but not limited to) re-racking equipment, wiping down equipment, dispose of trash and stray towels properly.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings
  • Stay current with trends and material in the fitness industry


Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ year experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Certified by an accredited training institute; options include: ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA, NCSF, CHES. Certification must remain active during length of employment with WGCC.
  • Must be First Aid and CPR/AED certified. Certification must remain active during length of employment with WGCC.
  • Ability to work with Jonas software
  • Knowledge of fitness center equipment
  • Willingness to train members of all levels
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of consitituents
  • Demonstrate  ability to work closely as a team, meet deadlines and multi-task
  • Proven  record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • BONUS:  Ability & interest in leading group exercise classes (example - boot camp, cycle, HIIT, etc.) is desirable

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  •  Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, bend, stoop, twist, climb, clean and lift up to 40 pounds
  •  Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions and occasional exposure to dust, fumes or gases
  •  Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
  •  Independent mobility

Pay Rate:  $50.00 - $120.00 per hour
