St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, located in historic downtown Franklin, TN, about 20 miles south of Nashville, is a well-established parish of over 2,000 families with a talented and energetic staff. They are seeking candidates for the position of Nursery/Child Care Worker. This is a part-time position, scheduled based on the needs of the parish.
Successful candidates will fill one or both of these shifts:
Sunday Morning
8:15AM to 10:30AM
10:30AM to 12:30PM
The Nursery/Child Care Worker is responsible for providing childcare during church services and/or church-sponsored functions:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
1. Perform childcare duties, including:
- Organize and participate in age appropriate recreational activities, such as reading, playing games, etc.
- Change diapers as necessary
2. Ensures that children have a safe nurturing environment during their stay in the nursery.
3. Ensures that the nursery area and toys are kept clean and in safe condition.
- Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
- Perform housekeeping duties re-organizing room, wiping down tables, removing trash
- Sanitize toys and play equipment, under direction of nursery coordinator
- Ensure that restroom facilities are left clean and in good order after use by children
- Remove trash/diapers from nursery at the end of each day
4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
1. Prefer some education and or experience in Child Development, Child Care, or Early Childhood Education.
2. Prefer some prior experience working with parents, other care givers, and children.
3. Satisfactorily completed an infant/child CPR course.
Additional Skills or Requirements:
1. Good communication skills.
2. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interact with children, parents and co-workers.
3. Self motivated with willingness to work under general direction and supervision.
4. Must be willing to submit to and satisfactorily complete a criminal background screening and to review diocesan Safe Environment training.
5. Satisfactorily completed an infant/child CPR course and maintained certification.
