Landscape Designer – Urban Ecological Focus

As a Landscape Designer (3–5 years of experience), you will contribute to complex urban design and ecological projects from concept through construction, bridging junior and senior roles within the team. You will develop innovative design concepts, lead small-to-medium projects, and grow your project management skills while mentoring junior staff.

What You’ll Do

As part of our design team, you will:

  • Help manage projects from concept through construction documentation and administration.
  • Shape design concepts – Develop sketches, 3D models, and presentation materials to communicate ideas and explore alternatives.
  • Engage in construction administration – Conduct site visits, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure design intent is realized.
  • Collaborate with clients – Participate in client meetings and presentations, sharing clear and compelling design narratives.
  • Advance digital workflows – Contribute to the firm’s evolving digital practice, exploring tools like Rhino, Revit, LLMs, and  Rendering Software 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design process and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Translate urban, ecological, and cultural context into thoughtful and buildable design solutions.
  • Coordinate with the BIM Manager and multidisciplinary teams for smooth project delivery.
  • Support and mentor junior designers.

Maintain awareness of emerging design technologies and bring fresh ideas to the studio.
 

Requirements

 

We are seeking an innovative, collaborative designer with strong design and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design (accredited program).
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in urban landscape projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vectorworks (or ability to learn within 3 months).
  • Strong 3D modeling skills (Rhino or Revit preferred) and ability to create final renderings (D5 or Enscape).
  • Solid understanding of landscape construction materials and methods.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Landscape Architectural license or on track within 2 years.
  • Experience with Revit for construction documentation.
  • Experience with Grasshopper or Dynamo 
  • Knowledge of horticulture and plant communities.
  • Experience with community engagement and participatory design.
  • Familiarity with computational analysis and/or AI tools applied to design.
