Orthodontic Assistant

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth patient flow and clinical efficiency by anticipating needs and taking initiative.
     
  • Provide chairside assistance for all orthodontic procedures with precision and confidence.
     
  • Perform all aspects of instrument sterilization, operatory turnover, and readiness.
     
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic records, including X-rays, intraoral (iTero) scans, impressions, and photographs.
     
  • Accurately complete chart entries with strong attention to detail and professional documentation standards.
     
  • Debrief patients and parents with clarity, professionalism, and empathy.
     
  • Proactively anticipate doctor needs during procedures and adjust seamlessly as required.
     
  • Participate in and contribute to daily huddles, staff meetings, and office systems.
     
  • Uphold established office protocols and maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.
     
  • Represent the practice with professionalism both inside and outside the office.
     

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year orthodontic assisting is required.
     
  • Current X-ray and Coronal Polish certifications required on day one.
     
  • Proven competency in orthodontic assisting skills, including records, impressions, and chairside support.
     
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical application.
     
  • Ability to shift seamlessly into any role required within a small team environment.
     
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
     
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients and families.
     
  • Highly reliable and committed to maintaining schedule demands, including flexibility to stay late as needed.

Salary Description
$22-30/hr
