Riggs Power Systems is hiring an experienced Power Field Technician to service and repair power generation equipment, including diesel and gas engines, generators, switchgear, and complex electrical systems. This field-based role supports our customers by delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service.
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose and repair engines, generators, switchgear, and electrical components
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and load bank testing
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using CAT software, schematics, and service manuals
- Support start-ups and commissioning on new power system installations
- Provide accurate service documentation and clear communication with the team and clients
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Represent Riggs with professionalism and strong customer service
What You Bring:
- Min 3+ years of Power Systems experience with diesel/gas engines, generators, switchgear, or power generation systems
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with start-up and commissioning highly preferred
- Familiarity with CAT, Cummins, or similar OEM systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and use laptop-based diagnostics
- Valid driver’s license; ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel (up to 50% overnight)
