CAD Drafter
Description

The CAD Drafter position is responsible for producing detailed drawings and specifications based on information provided by customers and engineers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in AutoCAD, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Schedule: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Thursday, Friday 7:00 AM to Noon. 


CAD Orafter Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project files for accuracy and completeness
     
  • Determine proper project dimensions based on customer requirements and deck panel limitations
     
  • Produce precise project drawings with accurate dimensions and current details for structural, fascia, and gutter components
     
  • Utilize AutoCAD proficiently to deliver high-quality design outputs
     
  • Work efficiently under time constraints to meet project deadlines
     
  • Apply working knowledge of 3D modeling programs such as SolidWorks, Router-CIM, AXYZ, or Tekla Structures (preferred)
     
  • Demonstrate and uphold the company’s core values in all work practices
     

Secondary Duties:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current details for all company brands and customers
     
  • Continuously seek ways to improve drawing efficiency and simplify manufacturing methods
     
  • Run prints and maintain printing equipment as needed
     
  • Collaborate and assist other CAD Department members
     
  • Provide support to other departments with technical questions or design-related issues
     
  • Generate fabrication drawings using 3D modeling software
     

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience with AutoCAD (required)
     
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Router-CIM, AXYZ, or Tekla Structures (preferred)
     
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
     
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
     
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
