Position Summary:
The Equipment Sales Director is responsible for growing an assigned sales territory and accountable for leading and directing a profitable equipment sales revenue team. This strategic leadership position is responsible for day-to-day management of a team and driving sales processes. The Equipment Sales Director will be a true customer centric solution finder and act as a trusted systems expert.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive profitable revenue growth in assigned territory and exceed sales targets
• Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet and exceed individual and team sales goals.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets and expand customer base.
• Establish manage team territory targets
• Manage individually and team the use of Salesforce (CRM) and driving sales execution
• Managed individually and team the use of Pandadoc for quoting (CPQ)
• Analyze market trends and identify new opportunities for business growth.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management.
• Recruit, train, and develop sales talent to foster a culture of excellence and achievement.
• Implement sales tools and process improvements that drive growth and customer satisfaction
• Coach, develop, maintain, and manage a highly technical sales team
• Foster effective and transparent information sharing between customers, technicians, and JC Ford manufacturing and engineering teams
• Create and implement sales documentation procedures and processes for customer and internal teams
• Establish and grow customer relationships
• Create strategy on meeting or exceeding financial metrics
• Increasing employee retention and engagement levels
• Effective communication with VP of Revenue and demonstrable service dashboards
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
• Proven track record of 8 years in industrial machinery or related experience, ideally in a food processing/manufacturing/packing environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with CRM software like Salesforce and data analysis tools.
• Experience with CPQ software like Pandadoc
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
• Experience effectively managing customer relations dealing directly
• Experience managing a Profit & Loss statement, cost control, inventory management, customer-facing metric management (KPI, etc.)
• Ability to effectively demonstrate productivity tools, i.e. Microsoft Office
• Achieve targets and goals with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills verbal and written
• Understanding of the food and process industry, including factory operations and decision-making processes.
• Proven track record of technical solution sales and possessing an engineering and project management mindset
• Experience with project-based sales involving complex technical solutions.
• Capacity to logically solve problems and manage projects by utilizing a data-driven, detail-oriented, approach.
• Demonstrated success in building relationships and driving revenue in North America, with possible experience in international markets.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in and/or lead a cross-functional team.
• Analytical ability to prepare performance reports, cost/price analyses, and other performance measures
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively.
• Possess ability to drive for results, hold self-accountable, and continuously improve.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is a plus
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Work Environment:
The work environment for this role includes a blend of professional office settings, customer-site environments, and manufacturing areas. While performing the duties of this position, the Director of Sales will work in a standard office environment with routine use of computers, phones, and other office equipment.
The role also requires frequent travel to customer locations, trade events, and industry meetings, which may involve varying conditions such as extended periods of driving, air travel, and time in customer production facilities.
At the company’s headquarters and regional facilities, the individual will periodically enter manufacturing areas. These areas may involve exposure to moving mechanical equipment, elevated noise levels, temperature variations, and other conditions typical of industrial production environments. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required and provided as needed.
The role requires the ability to navigate between office settings, customer environments, and manufacturing floors, maintaining professionalism and adherence to all safety and compliance requirements.
