Updated: 2/2025 CARTER COMMUNITY BUILDING ASSOCIATION JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Childcare Room Assistant FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt | Part-Time or Full- Time POSITION SCOPE: The Childcare Room Assistant helps provide a quality drop-in babysitting service for children ages six weeks through third grade. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Minimum of one (1) year of babysitting, day care, preschool, teaching or other children’s experience required. Certification in Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid required within three (3) months of hire. ABILITY TO: ? Be able to lift children up to 25 pounds. ? Be able to retrieve books and toys for children on the floor and from the shelves. ? Change children’s diapers as needed. ? Must be able to wash spills on floors, counters and highchairs and clean dishes/toys in the sink or on the counter. ? Be able to place young children in highchairs and assist them with food as needed. ? Perform orientations for new parents and children and communicate in a positive, consumer-oriented manner about our policies and procedures as well as their children’s activities and behavior. ? Occasionally operates a computer or tablet. ? Assists in managing responses to first aid emergencies and is a First Aid Team member, as described in the "CCBA EXPOSURE CONTROL PLAN." ? Communicate with the public in person and on the phone. Must be able to express oneself and exchange accurate information in these situations. ? Works to ensure that the Childcare Room and equipment are safe, clean, and well maintained and communicates with the Childcare Director about equipment and facilities upkeep.
