Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to support our surgical team by preparing patients for surgery and providing attentive post-operative care. This role is vital in ensuring our patients feel safe, supported, and ready at every phase of their surgical experience.
Pay: $44.58 per hour with only those benefits required by law.
Schedule: Monday through Friday (no weekends, no holidays and no call required)
Minimum Required Education/Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited learning institution. Minimum of three years work experience in direct nursing care is preferred.
Pre-Employment Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
• Demonstrated knowledge, skill and understanding of nurse role in a surgical setting.
• Advanced skill in patient safety in surgery setting; assume role as patient advocate.
• Advanced skill in clinical judgement, observation, knowledge and assessments with the ability to foresee needs that are essential to the success of the operation/surgery.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and respond to opportunities for improvement through continual learning, changes in approach based on situation and professional practice behavior.
• Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications (e-mail, scheduling software, electronic health records, etc.)
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits professionalism in completing the circulating nurse role.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration.
Note: An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to complete Tuberculosis testing/screening.
Licenses or Certificates: Valid state license as an RN. Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support/PALS certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support/ACLS certification (may be obtained at facility)
