Description

 SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting the vision and mission of the Watertown facility in the Warehouse department and/or in Production. Provide material handling to production lines in a timely fashion.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload racks using reach trucks.

• Load and unload trucks and distribute weight properly; unload and load components supply from trucks as required.

• Monitor/maintain component store (stock supply) effectively to support production rates.

• Correctly document and maintain lot numbers, storage locations and ensure proper labeling.

• Use computer-based ERP (PLEX) systems and barcode scanners to move material in and throughout the facility.

• Operate a forklift and upright equipment in a safe and effective manner. Obtain certification and follow all requirements for safe operation. •

• Collaborate with and support all GSS associates in a professional and positive manner.

• Dispose of material (Reject, Scrap, and Hold) appropriately.

• Communicate regularly with Supervisor.

• Understand and follow all safety requirements and rules. Always Practice good PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

• Follow out specification procedures and document as required.

• React effectively and execute with a sense of urgency to internal customer demands to meet production goals.

• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow all maintenance procedures.

• Practice good housekeeping daily.

• Drive Fork truck and move material as needed on and off scales, racks, stretch wrapper, load and unload trucks, packs and crates when required.

• Practice FIFO when picking parts from the Warehouse and when placing parts in the stores area.

• Work in Dock Audit area as needed

Requirements

  EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 3-5 years of experience working in a warehouse. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

• Understanding of cycle count processing.


COMPETENCIES

• Ability to use a floor scale and pallet strap.

• Demonstrated ability to use barcode systems and computer systems (warehouse management systems).

• Reading, writing and mathematical level skills are necessary to competently perform job duties.

• Ability to work in elevated areas, and to visually locate product from a distance.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

• Good judgment in safety handling materials.

• Must be able to work overtime as needed and have reliable transportation.

  

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• Position may require the ability to lift, bend, good hand dexterity, visual inspection, and some manual handling not to exceed thirty-five pounds. Must be able to see clearly at a distance with or without accommodation.
