Kennedy Lenart Spraggins LLP is seeking a registered U.S. Patent Attorney with a strong technical background in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a closely related discipline to join our growing intellectual property practice. This is a fully remote position offering significant opportunities for direct client engagement, collaboration with an experienced team, and involvement with cutting-edge technologies in the electronics and computing spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications involving advanced electrical engineering, computing, and related technologies.
- Advise clients on patent strategy, portfolio development, and intellectual property protection.
- Interpret and apply patent laws, regulations, and USPTO guidance.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy, invention disclosures, and prosecution matters.
- Participate in quality control, docket management, and other operational responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as requested by firm partners.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a closely related field.
- Registration to practice before the USPTO as a patent attorney or patent agent.
- At least 3 years of private practice experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
- Experience drafting and/or prosecuting at least 50 U.S. patent applications in electrical engineering, computing, or related subject matter.
- Preferred technical expertise includes experience with analog circuitry, digital logic, processor architectures, semiconductor design, power electronics, and embedded systems.
