Refrigeration Technician

This is a full time direct placement position with RCS Company of Tampa.


RCS is seeking a skilled and reliable Refrigeration Service Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for career-minded individuals with strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration systems. Technicians will perform service, repair, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including walk-in coolers/freezers, rack systems, warehouse cold storage, compressors, and ice machines.


Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment (walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, rack systems, compressors, ice machines, etc.)
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure proper operation and system longevity
  • Respond to daytime, nighttime, weekend, and holiday emergency service calls as scheduled
  • Work independently to complete service tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, repairs, and recommendations
  • Document service work performed and maintain accurate work orders
  • Climb ladders, access rooftops, and lift up to 50 lbs as required for equipment inspection and repair
  • Maintain a clean company vehicle and uphold all safety standards and procedures

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of commercial/industrial refrigeration experience (warehouse cold storage preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC fundamentals, and ice machine service
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant-related issues
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)

Requirements

  • EPA Certification (Type II or Universal required)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and DMV review
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and access rooftop units
  • Availability for on-call rotation to respond to emergency service needs

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Trade school, technical training, or HVAC/R certification preferred
Salary Description
$30–$48/hr
