Medical Lab Technician
Description

AAC is seeking a certified Medical Technologist (MLS/MT) with experience in DNA extraction, chromosomal microarray (CMA), and next-generation sequencing (NGS) to support high-complexity genetic testing in a clinical laboratory setting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform DNA extraction, quantification, and quality assessment; document all work per SOPs.
  • Support genetics workflows (as applicable):
  • CMA: sample prep/QC, array processing, scanner/run documentation
  • NGS: library prep, pooling, run setup/monitoring, run documentation
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; escalate issues as needed.
  • Complete and document QC checks; participate in quality activities as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records/specimen tracking and compliance documentation.
  • Follow HIPAA, safety, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

Meets CLIA high-complexity testing personnel requirements.

1+ year clinical lab experience preferred; molecular/genetics experience preferred.

Hands-on experience with CMA and/or NGS in a clinical setting.

Familiarity with LIMS and inspection readiness (CLIA/CAP culture)


Certificates, Licenses, Registration: 

MLS(ASCP) / MT(ASCP) (or equivalent certification).


Salary Description
$25–$40/hour
