SetPoint Medical's Mechanical Engineering interns will work on multiple projects related to mechanical design, CAD, product sustaining, and next-generation development activities, including prototype fabrication, drafting procedures, and documentation of specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to keep projects on track, and close collaboration with cross-functional departments is key to meeting project requirements.
With guidance from the Mechanical Engineering team, the intern will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, leveraging available resources to make well-informed decisions and contribute to the successful completion of projects.

This paid internship will allow you to benefit professionally while helping SetPoint define a new therapeutic category of neuroimmune modulation. You will take ownership in projects or tasks with the help of a mentor to guide you along the way, and you will have the opportunity to interact with teams and leaders across the company.
This full-time position is in office, Monday - Friday, reporting to company headquarters in Valencia, CA. Internship dates are flexible based on your school calendar.
• Basic CAD skills (Solidworks preferred)
• Basic prototyping skills (Machining, 3D printing, hand tools, etc.)
• Basic GD&T knowledge
• Product sustaining and Next Gen activities
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Critical thinking, organizational and analytical skills

• High motivation and strong desire to learn
• Strong presentation skills to present ideas to the larger team
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or above
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Self-motivated and passionate for innovation and quality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with and relate to all levels within the organization
• Team skills that demonstrate inclusivity, decisiveness, good facilitation, a process improvement orientation, and approachability
• Experience with microscopes is a plus
• Specific courses in mechanical engineering, medical devices, or materials engineering are a plus
