The Crew Chief reports to the Team Leader 135 & Managed Aircraft and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, scheduling, and operational readiness of all charter, management, and sales aircraft. The role requires active coordination with the service department, oversight of a small technician team, and compliance with FAA and company standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installations as assigned.
- Act as the primary technical resource for technicians, customers, and engineers.
- Share technical knowledge and assist team members with training and procedural compliance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and trend reviews; recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with the Team Leader DMW Service Center to optimize aircraft availability.
- Track and manage squawks, maintenance tasks, and inspection statuses for managed aircraft.
- Ensure charter, management, and sales aircraft remain clean, serviceable, and demo-ready (including tire pressure, battery charge, navigation database updates, and regular exercising).
- Perform ground runs, IFR certifications, and validate system functionality before return to service.
- Maintain and service ground support equipment.
- Communicate with aircraft manufacturer technical support as needed.
- Review work orders and maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with Pilatus’ Repair Station Manual and FAA regulations.
- Monitor adherence to company policies and assist with documentation of training.
- Track and submit team-related expenses in a timely manner.
- Promote a collaborative work environment and support career development initiatives.
- Be available for overtime and off-site technical support as required.
- Provide and maintain professional-grade tools.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 7+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (PC-12, PC-24, or similar), including 2 years in a Certified Repair Station.
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to assist others with technical guidance.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in confined spaces or on elevated platforms.
- Proficient with hand tools, specialized test equipment, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Relevant military experience accepted.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience providing technical guidance or coordinating maintenance activities.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) strongly preferred.

The pay rate for this position is $36.38 - $54.57 per hour depending on experience. Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
