Soldier Creek, LLC – a family company of Prairie Band, LLC is seeking a GIS Analyst IV for our new proposal!
The Division of Resource Integration and Services seeks to provide data integration, workflow and IT system modernization through the use of various IT based solutions such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, training, and application support for the management of natural resources on Indian lands, tribal and climate resilience grants, forest harvesting, wildland fire analysis, oil and gas management, and other economic analyses for the benefit of our collective stakeholders including Tribes.
Please note: This position is currently part of a competitive bid process and is contingent upon the successful award of the contract. This is a remote opportunity with some travel to the main office located in Denver, CO.

Primary Accountabilities:
The GIS Analyst IV candidate will be senior-level expert who leads complex geospatial projects, develops advanced applications and dashboards, manages data standards, mentors junior staff, and acts as a key liaison, requiring 7+ years' experience in analysis, programming (scripting), data modeling, and leading projects using ESRI ArcGIS and other platforms, focusing on data integrity, quality assurance, and strategic implementation for high-level decision-making.
Major Duties:
- Project Leadership & Coordination: Serves as a lead, managing GIS tasks, coordinating with management/clients, and ensuring project delivery.
- Advanced Analysis & Development: Performs complex spatial analysis, designs dashboards, builds interactive applications, and develops geospatial models/workflows.
- Data Management: Oversees data integrity, standards (like FGDC compliance), metadata creation, and geodatabase management, ensuring data consistency.
- Automation & Scripting: Uses scripting languages (Python, etc.) to automate processes, refine pipelines, and improve efficiency.
- Mentorship & Training: Provides guidance, training, and technical assistance to junior analysts and users.
- Portal & Application Management: Manages internal/external GIS portals (like ArcGIS Online) and data pages, ensuring user-friendliness.
- Reporting: Creates complex maps, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Experience: 7+ years in GIS, often in consulting or government.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Geography, GIS, or related field.
- Software: Expert proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, geodatabases, and potentially raster software (like ERDAS).
- Technical: Strong skills in data modeling, spatial analysis, cartography, programming/scripting, and metadata standards.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and ability to work independently.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check as well as a drug screen.

- Expected Salary (Colorado only): $85,188 to $107,000
- Locality Pay – an additional 30.52%
