Soldier Creek, LLC – a family company of Prairie Band, LLC, is seeking a GIS Analyst for our new proposal!
The Division of Resource Integration and Services seeks to provide data integration, workflow and IT system modernization through the use of various IT based solutions such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, training, and application support for the management of natural resources on Indian lands, tribal and climate resilience grants, forest harvesting, wildland fire analysis, oil and gas management, and other economic analyses for the benefit of our collective stakeholders including Tribes.
Please note: This position is currently part of a competitive bid process and is contingent upon the successful award of the contract. This is a remote opportunity with some travel to the main office located in Denver, CO.

Primary Accountabilities:
The GIS Analyst will design, develop, and maintain Geographic Information Systems, performing spatial analysis, creating custom maps and apps, managing geospatial databases (often using ArcGIS, Python, SQL), and supporting data-driven decisions across various fields like urban planning, environmental science, and logistics, requiring strong analytical, technical (scripting/database), and communication skills.
Major Duties:
- Data Management: Capturing, converting, updating, and maintaining accurate GIS databases and layers, ensuring data integrity.
- Spatial Analysis: Performing complex analyses (buffers, overlays, geoprocessing) to identify patterns and trends.
- Map & App Development: Creating high-quality maps, reports, and interactive web applications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical Support: Providing assistance to users and collaborating with IT on system integration.
- Collaboration: Working with field teams, engineers, and other professionals to meet project needs.
• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science, Manage Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, or closely related field. In lieu of a GIS degree, references can be provided.
• Five (5) or more years of practical geospatial experience or ten (10) years or more experience without a bachelor’s degree.
• Proficient in using ArcGIS Pro and Spatial Analyst extension.
• Proficient in using the ArcGIS Online Platform.
• Ability to create maps, geodatabases, and other GIS deliverables on short notice.
• Strong aptitude for using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both geospatial and non-geospatial projects.
• Ability to problem-solve complex geospatial problems with attention to detail and effective time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check and drug screen
Preferred Skills
• Established experience with automation of common processes using tools such as ArcGIS ModelBuilder, Python scripting, Arcade, Jupyter Notebooks, or other programming/scripting languages.
• Experience with Global Mapper

- Locality Pay – an additional 30.52%
