Mission of Department:
It is the mission of the Scott County Hospital Specialty Clinic Department to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care exceeding the patient’s expectations.
Purpose of Position:
The Specialty Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational leadership of the Specialty Clinic. This role ensures effective provider coordination, clinic access, scheduling optimization, staff performance, and cross-departmental collaboration to support high-quality, efficient patient care.
Essential Functions:
Staff Leadership & Communication
· Lead regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, changes, performance priorities, and operational updates.
· Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, support and continuous improvement.
· Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training of clinic staff.
· Serve as a first-level resource for staff concerns, escalating issues appropriately when needed.
Provider & Interdepartmental Coordination
· Maintain effective working relationships with physicians and advanced practice providers to support clinic efficiency and patient care.
· Lead and participate in interdepartmental meetings as needed to resolve patient care related issues.
· Engage in professional, solution-oriented dialogue with other departments to address workflow and patient access challenges.
Quality, Compliance & Performance
· Ensure compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
· Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient experience, clinic flow, and operational consistency.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Maintain appropriate documentation, reports, and records related to clinic operations.
· Participate in required meetings and organizational initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
Required to assist with other tasks as delegated by senior management staff.
Education, Qualifications, Experience:
Registered Nurse (RN) license: Preferred. Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a clinical or ambulatory care setting preferred. Experience working with providers and multidisciplinary teams is strongly preferred.

Have confidence, be a strong leader, and work well independently. Must also be able to make quick decisions and be able to stand behind them. Good physical health because of long periods of standing, walking, and working required. Dexterity, coordination, visual and audio acuity necessary. Neat, clean and particular about appearance. Mental stamina to stand stress and strain. Good memory, patience, tact and emotional stability. Meticulous, persistence, adaptable, judgments and skill in organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong operational and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Demonstrated ability to lead staff meetings and facilitate productive discussions.
· Ability to engage in professional, respectful, and effective communication with providers and hospital departments.
· Sound judgment, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
· Working knowledge of electronic medical records and basic office technology.
Expectation of Service: This is a non-exempt position with hours of work varying depending on clinic needs. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Occasional standing, walking, and light physical activity consistent with a clinical environment.
Equipment:
Knowledge of how to operate all of the following, but not limited to:
Plum Pump IV pumps, Computer, Healthland EMR system, Bladder scanner, and automatic vital signs machine.
