What You’ll Do


As an Ophthalmic Technician, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting our Ophthalmologists and ensuring a smooth, efficient clinic flow. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately documenting and summarizing ophthalmic examinations in real time, including chief complaints, assessments, and treatment recommendations 
  • Supporting patient understanding by reinforcing provider instructions and sharing educational materials when needed 
  • Performing patient workups and specialized ophthalmic testing 
  • Administering ophthalmic medications and assisting with eye care instructions 
  • Preparing patients for in-office procedures and assisting with lasers and treatments 
  • Taking and documenting comprehensive medical histories 
  • Sterilizing and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and equipment
  • Assisting patients with contact lens insertion and removal 
  • Maintaining clear communication regarding appointment status and patient flow
Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of medical coding terminology 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G-Suite tools
     

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant
  • COA or COT certification preferred
  • Commitment to maintaining required education, certification, and training
