POSITION SUMMARY

 

A leading   generic pharmaceutical distributor with advanced information technologies is seeking a highly motivated IT Systems Administrator with a passion for technology, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This role supports critical infrastructure and end users across the enterprise and plays a key role in system reliability, security, and operational excellence.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and support of servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud services. This includes hands-on administration of Microsoft environments, cloud platforms, networking, endpoint protection, and user support in a regulated   business environment.

Core Responsibilities:

· Administer and support enterprise systems including Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Exchange Online / Microsoft 365, Cloud VoIP, and endpoint security platforms.

· Install, configure, patch, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

· Monitor system performance, availability, and security using remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.

· Respond to incident, problem, and service request tickets in a timely and professional manner.

· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and security issues.

· Provision, modify, and decommission user accounts, permissions, and access across multiple systems.

· Support and train staff on Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related tools.

· Support and administer cloud-based phone systems and video conferencing platforms.

· Administer and support LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and network services.

· Install and support PCs, laptops, RF devices, printers, switches, and other IT equipment.

· Manage system changes, upgrades, and deployment projects, including documentation and change control.

· Participate in cybersecurity incident detection, response, containment, and recovery activities in coordination with IT leadership and security partners.

· Develop, document, and improve systems administration procedures and operational processes.

· Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, system documentation, logs, and maintenance records.

· Assist with backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.

· Participate in after-hours or weekend support as required for maintenance windows or incident response.


Job Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

· Minimum 5 years of professional IT systems administration experience.

· Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems in physical and virtual environments.

· Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management.

· Experience administering Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online.

· Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, VLANs, wireless, and TCP/IP.

· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

· Experience leading or contributing to infrastructure or deployment projects.

· Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including incident response concepts, endpoint threats, phishing, and access control.

· Strong time-management skills and ability to work effectively under deadline pressure.

· Willingness to participate in on-call or after-hours support when required.

· Commitment to confidentiality, security, and best practices.

· Reliable and regular attendance.

Technical Skills     Required:

· Windows Professional and Windows Server administration

· Active Directory and Group Policy

· VMware virtualization platform experience

· Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online administration

· Endpoint protection and patch management

· LAN/WAN networking fundamentals

· Backup and restore solutions

· Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR/XDR) tools, security logging, and basic incident response workflows

· IT asset and lifecycle management

Preferred Skills: 

· Firewall configuration and maintenance

· Network routers, switches, wireless access points, and VLAN design

· Experience in medium-sized corporate IT environments

· Familiarity with ITIL practices

· Project management experience

Certifications Preferred:     

· Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, or modern equivalents)

· Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA or equivalent experience)

· ITIL certification

Salary Description
$83,000 - $86,000
