Love the water, enjoy helping people, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? As a Seasonal Pool Clerk at Big Blue Bay Swimming Pool, you’ll be an essential part of keeping our facility safe, clean, and welcoming for all patrons.


In this role, you’ll assist with daily pool operations, maintain facilities and equipment, and support swim programs. You’ll help ensure a safe swimming environment by following and enforcing pool regulations, attending in-service training, and reporting any issues to supervisors. You’ll also provide friendly, professional customer service, manage admissions and cash transactions, and support staff during swim lessons, programs, and special events.


Work schedules are flexible and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, making this a perfect seasonal opportunity for students or anyone looking for summer work.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

  • Working knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions 
  • Ability to operate a cash register and accurately handle cash 
  • Ability to perform custodial and facility maintenance tasks 
  • Willingness to assume responsibility and help maintain a safe, enjoyable environment 

Typical duties may include (but are not limited to):

  • Collecting admission and registration fees, operating the cash register, and maintaining accurate records 
  • Assisting with swim lesson instruction and program support 
  • Performing routine custodial work, including cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, pool decks, and equipment 
  • Maintaining and inspecting pool equipment, reporting defects to supervisors 
  • Setting up and taking down equipment for swim programs, events, and meets 
  • Assisting with pool opening and closing procedures 
  • Enforcing pool safety rules and helping prevent accidents 
  • Supporting staff in other operational duties as assigned

Cash register and janitorial equipment
