Description
The Hardscape Construction Foreman is responsible for the layout, planning, and the safe execution of the project once the tasks are assigned. They will instruct and work with a small team of construction workers on a project site, monitoring work quality and maintaining project timelines.
Requirements
- The ability to read blueprints, to install stone steps, patios, walks, and walls (free standing, retaining, and veneer.)
- Must be able to layout the project, including setting up the drainage and establishing the masonry grades for the project.
- Experience with equipment (excavator, backhoe, skid steer, loader, trucks, trailers, transits etc…) to properly excavate the soils needed for the project. •
- Possess the skills to work with carbide chisels, and power tools like drills, grinders and saws with diamonds to shape and fabricate stone.
- Understand the use and properties of all masonry materials. (Ex: fieldstone, granite, travertine, cobbles, bluestone, brick, concrete pavers and wall stone.) •
- Understand the structural elements and have the skills to install footings and compacted base for patios, walks, driveways etc.
- Experience with vehicle and safety inspections
