Inside Sales Representative - 3D Printing Solutions
St. Paul
Description

Role overview

We’re hiring a sales-driven Inside Sales Representative (ISR) to accelerate revenue across 3D printing solutions—including printers, materials, software, and services—with a strong focus on large enterprise account lead cultivation and horizontal expansion. You’ll own the inside sales motion end-to-end: converting inbound demand, prospecting into named accounts, building pipeline, multi-threading stakeholders, and closing business.

This role is ideal for a mid-level seller (3–5 years) with experience in the 3D printing/additive manufacturing space who thrives on activity, follow-through, and winning complex deals.

Requirements

What you’ll do

  • Own revenue targets by managing opportunities from discovery through close (qualification, solution packaging, quoting,      negotiation, and PO close).
  • Cultivate enterprise accounts by turning early interest into qualified opportunities through consistent, value-led outreach and timely follow-up.
  • Multi-thread and stakeholder map across engineering, operations, procurement, R&D, finance, and leadership to reduce single-thread risk and accelerate decisions.
  • Drive horizontal expansion by identifying additional use cases across departments, business units, and sites—turning initial wins into broader adoption.
  • Build account plans for priority enterprise targets, including whitespace analysis and next-step sequencing to create pipeline      predictability.
  • Sell the full solution stack by bundling printers, materials, software, and services into outcome-based proposals aligned to customer priorities.
  • Run crisp discovery to confirm application fit, decision criteria, buying process, budget, and timeline—then convert this into a clear close plan.
  • Coordinate demos, trials, and samples with technical teams to advance evaluations and reduce technical risk.
  • Navigate procurement workflows including vendor onboarding, RFQs (as needed), purchase orders, and common education buying cycles.
  • Expand and retain customers through reorders, renewals, software licenses, service packages, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline with accurate stages, notes, next steps, and forecasting updates.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, field sales (if applicable), applications/engineering, and operations to improve      conversion and customer experience.

What success looks like

  • Consistently hits monthly/quarterly goals while maintaining healthy pipeline coverage.
  • Converts inbound leads quickly and effectively with high-quality qualification and strong next-step control.
  • Builds predictable pipeline through disciplined outbound prospecting into named enterprise accounts.
  • Establishes multiple relationships per account and consistently multi-threads key stakeholders.
  • Expands initial pilots or single-site wins into cross-department and multi-site rollouts.
  • Keeps CRM accurate enough to support forecasting and leadership visibility.

  Requirements

  • 3–5 years in B2B inside sales and/or education sales with quota responsibility.
  • Experience at a 3D printing/additive manufacturing company (equipment, materials, services, software, or adjacent).
  • Proven ability to manage an inside sales process (discovery ? qualification ? proposal/quote ? negotiation ? close).
  • Comfortable selling technical solutions to mixed audiences (engineering, lab managers/faculty, operations, procurement).
  • Strong follow-up habits, objection handling, and pipeline management.
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).

  Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise evaluations (demos, pilots, trials) and converting them into broader adoption.
  • Familiarity with electronics-related applications or manufacturing/R&D environments.
  • Exposure to education procurement cycles (higher education, community college, CTE/STEM programs).
  • Experience working with channel partners/resellers (especially in education).

  Key competencies

  • Competitive, resilient, and action-oriented
  • Excellent phone/email communication and deal control
  • Organized with strong activity cadence and follow-through
  • Able to learn technical products quickly and sell value confidently
  • Collaborative mindset with ownership of outcomes
