Avionics Technicians are responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing avionics and electrical systems on Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft. All work must meet manufacturing specifications, FARs, industry standards, and company-approved procedures in a clean, safe, and organized environment.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional testing of avionics equipment under simulated and actual operating conditions.
  • Perform pitot/static system modifications and testing, including IFR certifications (FAR 91.411 and 91.413).
  • Accurately document work progress in job cards and production records.
  • Inspect incoming aircraft and components per FAA Certified Repair Station guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, FOCA, and company regulations.
  • Execute avionics installations, troubleshooting, and software updates (Garmin, Honeywell).
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety standards.
  • Complete all required paperwork (work orders, tags, timecards, parts requests).
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and flexibility for overtime as needed.

Role Levels


Avionics Technician I

  • Assist with aircraft option installations and modifications.
  • Support aircraft cleaning, detailing, and movement.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a crew under supervision.


Avionics Technician II

  • Provide guidance and share technical knowledge with Avionics Technician I and other junior personnel.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks.


Avionics Technician III

  • Mentor and support Avionics Technician I and II.
  • Handle complex electrical issues and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to guide others.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and technical memos.
Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

Avionics Technician I 

  • 0–3 years of demonstrated experience assisting with installations and performing basic avionics troubleshooting under supervision (PC-12/PC-24 experience preferred).
  • FAA A&P license or eligibility under FAR 65.101 for repairman certificate.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant military experience accepted.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.; work on ladders, and in confined spaces.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Avionics Technician II


In addition to the skills/experience/requirements listed for Avionics Technician I, the ideal candidate for Avionics Technician II will also have:

  • 2–5 years of demonstrated ability to independently perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on avionics systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for electrical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and support junior technicians.

Avionics Technician III


In addition to the skills/experience/requirements listed for Avionics Technician II, the ideal candidate for Avionics Technician III will also have:

  • 4–7 years of demonstrated expertise in complex electrical systems and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in blueprint interpretation and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to mentor and lead others.

The pay range is $27.95 - $48.91 per hour depending on experience. Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
