Maintenance Technician

Description

  Duties involve performing routine upkeep, troubleshooting, and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment, covering everything from fixing leaky faucets and painting walls to maintaining HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring safety, and responding to work orders for general facility functionality. Key responsibilities include preventative maintenance, responding to service requests, ensuring safety compliance, and documenting work. 


Common Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building Systems:
    • Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
    • Replace light bulbs, filters, and perform basic electrical fixes like circuit breaker panel checks.
    • Test and maintain fire alarms, security systems, and other life safety equipment.
  • Repairs & Installations:
    • Fix broken locks, doors, windows, walls (drywall), and floors.
    • Install appliances, shelves, cabinets, and fixtures.
    • Perform carpentry, painting, and pressure washing.
  • Grounds & Exterior:
    • Clean up debris, trash, and maintain landscaping 
    • Clean and repair exterior walls, decks, fences, and gutters.
  • Operational Tasks:
    • Respond to work orders and emergency requests from management or occupants.
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and structures.
    • Keep maintenance logs, report issues, and manage supply inventory.

Requirements

 


  • Proficiency with hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, wrenches).
  • Problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and time management.
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and follow safety protocols.
