Job Summary:


The Grocery Associate is responsible for maintaining the grocery section of the store to ensure it runs efficiently. They demonstrate excellent commercial awareness, courtesy, and organizational skills. Duties may include cleaning the store, restocking shelves, and checking dates. The Grocery Associate maintains a high level of customer service while pricing, stocking and rotation of merchandise in the Grocery Department. They must maintain a neat, clean and visually appealing department. 

Requirements
  • Maintains the grocery department to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Stocks, prices, and rotates merchandise, including checking expiration dates.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and visually appealing department.
  • Provides courteous, prompt, and consistent customer service.
  • Keeps shelves and displays fully stocked, blocked, and faced.
  • Handles damaged or return-to-stock products according to company policy.
  • Follows all safety, sanitation, and food-handling standards.
  • Uses and maintains department equipment; reports issues promptly.
  • Assists Department Manager and completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with company policies, schedules, and training requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Grocery Associate need to be attentive and precise, able to work in a fast-paced environment where they will be expected to switch tasks frequently to fulfill customer requests. 
  • A passion for serving people.
  • Must be comfortable talking to people.
  • Able to work well with others as a team.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Non-slip shoes are required for safety (not provided).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling throughout the shift
  • Manual dexterity to safely handle knives, tools, and kitchen equipment
  • Clear vision and hearing to ensure safety, accuracy, and effective communication
  • Ability to climb step stools or ladders as needed
  • Must be able to work on weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as scheduled
