Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Good Harvest  Market is Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and  organic grocer. We're looking for a hands-on problem solver who takes as  much pride in the cleanliness of our facility as they do in a  successful repair. This is a varied, active role that keeps our store,  restaurant, and grounds running safely and looking their best every day.

What You'll Do

  • Keep  our facility clean and safe — restrooms, floors, entrances, and  customer areas are a daily priority and a core part of this role
  • Perform  onsite equipment repairs and preventative maintenance on refrigeration,  commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, and building systems
  • Troubleshoot facility and equipment issues and determine when outside contractors are needed
  • Maintain  outdoor spaces including walkways, patios, and the playground area —  weeding, planting, litter pickup, and general upkeep — and assist with  weather-related safety needs such as salting and clearing walkways
  • Track completed tasks, ongoing projects, and repair activity to support accountability and continuity

What We're Looking For

  • A hands-on self-starter who takes pride in both fixing things and keeping spaces clean
  • Someone  who genuinely doesn't mind the custodial side of the job — daily  cleaning is a core function of this role, not an afterthought
  • Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage priorities and follow through consistently
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions year-round

What You'll Get

  • $20–$25/hr depending on experience, paid weekly every Friday
  • Full  time benefits including medical, dental, vision, employer-paid life and  disability insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays
  • Simple IRA retirement plan with employer match
  • Generous employee discount on store products and restaurant dining
  • A stable, mission-driven workplace
Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience in facilities maintenance, equipment repair, or a related hands-on trade required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform onsite repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues independently
  • Experience with commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, or HVAC systems strongly preferred
  • Comfortable with custodial and groundskeeping duties as a daily core function of the role
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment about safety and scope
  • Comfortable using basic tracking tools to log tasks, projects, and completed repairs

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full time, Tuesday through Saturday with occasional flexibility needed based on operational demands
  • Must be available to respond to weather-related needs as they arise
  • Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds; regular lifting up to 75 pounds during maintenance tasks and weather events
  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and standing throughout the shift
  • Use of mechanical aids such as dollies and sliders for heavier equipment
