Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technologist for a high-acuity Operating Room assignment in Columbus, Ohio.

This is a Level I Trauma, high-volume academic OR supporting complex surgical services including neuro/spine, advanced orthopedics, and trauma cases.

This is NOT a general OR role — candidates must have strong Level I trauma experience and be comfortable in complex, high-acuity surgical environments.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• Day and evening coverage required
• Mix of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts
• Shift times range: 6:30 AM – 11:30 PM
• Call required (see below)
• Weekend coverage required
• Orientation: 40 hours

COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,457 per week
• W2: $24.50 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week
• Locals accepted at same rate

UNIT OVERVIEW
• Level I Trauma Center
• Academic teaching hospital
• High-volume OR environment
• Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

SURGICAL CASE MIX
• Neurosurgery and spine procedures
• Complex orthopedic and ortho spine
• General and bariatric surgery
• Trauma and emergency surgical cases
• Robotics, transplant, burns, ENT, GU, plastics, and vascular

CALL EXPECTATIONS
• Weekday call: 21:00 – 06:30
• Weekend call: 12-hour shifts (day or night)

ENVIRONMENT
• Fast-paced, high-acuity surgical setting
• Strong physician interaction and case involvement
• Team-oriented academic OR with advanced surgical exposure

REQUIRED (HARD STOPS – DO NOT SUBMIT WITHOUT ALL):
• Minimum 3 years Surgical Technologist experience
• Minimum 2 years Level I or Level II Trauma OR experience
• STRONG Neurosurgery / Neuro-Spine experience REQUIRED
• STRONG complex orthopedic experience REQUIRED
• Experience with bariatric and general surgery REQUIRED
• Teaching hospital experience REQUIRED

CERTIFICATIONS:
• BLS REQUIRED

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Ability to scrub high-acuity trauma cases
• Strong knowledge of neuro and spine instrumentation
• Experience with complex orthopedic setups
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs in advanced cases

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work variable shifts (8s, 10s, 12s)
• Ability to take call (weekday + weekend)
• Epic experience preferred
• Travel experience preferred

IMPORTANT:
• RTO must be submitted at time of submission
• No RTO accepted between 02/15/26 – 02/28/26
