Image Engineering is an innovative leader in the laser and special effects industry, dedicated to pushing boundaries and developing new ideas through design and fabrication. Our expertise spans a broad range of techniques, including laser effects, video projection mapping, pyrotechnics, architectural lighting installations, and custom-built sets and props. With over 500 projects completed across the United States, we’ve delivered captivating creative shows for clients like Rihanna, Jay-Z, Tiësto, America’s Got Talent, and professional sports teams in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. We have also created interactive installations for venues like Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Power Plant, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Walt Disney World.

  

Full Time, Hourly

Ten (10) Week Internship, beginning Monday, June 1, 2026

M-F, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Shadow under Designers and Programmers to learn design concepts, workflows and best practices
  • Work alongside our Creative Services Team as a Programmer and Technician for Image Engineering shows by

      o Prepping lighting, laser and special effects equipment to confirm show readiness

      o Completing in-house and onsite programming using design software and applicable consoles when instructed by a Lead Designer

      o Setting up equipment in our demo spaces and onsite for client shows

      o Fill out service logs and compliance documentation related to laser shows completed under immediate direction or as assigned by Lead Laser Designer/Technician

·     o Work towards proficiency in design software such as Pangolin Beyond, Vectorworks and Depence R3

      o Explore integration of flame systems into design concepts using GrandMA 2 and GrandMA 3

  • Work towards proficiency in applicable consoles for executing lighting, laser and special effects shows, specifically GrandMA2/GrandMA 3
  • Work alongside Creative Services team to conduct research and development around new and proprietary equipment and software
  • Serve as generic special effects technician as necessary
  • Support of drone shows, and drone operations as needed
  • Support of pyrotechnic shows, and onsite operation as needed 
  • Conduct research and development of new show technologies
  • Complete compliance related trainings and maintain OSHA and Company-related compliance policies


Requirements
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures
  • Capable of operating independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to frequently walk, bend, squat, balance, lift and carry up to 65 lbs.
  • Able to pass background check and drug test
