Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a PCU assignment supporting acute leukemia and hematology patients in Columbus, Ohio.
This is a high-acuity oncology stepdown unit focused on newly diagnosed leukemia patients requiring telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, and intensive supportive care.
KEY ADVANTAGE: No chemotherapy certification required — this unit is ideal for nurses looking to transition into oncology while maintaining a strong clinical skill set.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• Day or Night shift available | 3x12s
• Day: 07:00–19:30
• Night: 19:00–07:30
• Self-scheduling available (no block scheduling)
• Weekend requirements based on unit needs
• Floating required within equivalent or lower acuity units
COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,359 per week
• W2: $24.50 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week
UNIT OVERVIEW
• Acute Leukemia & Hematology PCU
• Adult and geriatric population
• Ratios: 1:4 (may flex to 1:5)
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention and patient safety
CLINICAL FOCUS
• Acute leukemia and hematology patients
• Blood transfusions and IV antibiotic therapy
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Rapid response and escalation of care
• Central line management
• Infection prevention protocols
• High-volume supportive care environment
ENVIRONMENT
• Academic teaching hospital
• Strong onboarding and clinical support
• Excellent entry point into oncology nursing
• Minimum 2 years RN experience REQUIRED
• PCU, Med-Surg Telemetry, or Stepdown experience REQUIRED
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation REQUIRED
• Blood product administration experience REQUIRED
• BLS and ACLS REQUIRED
• Epic EMR experience REQUIRED
• Valid compact or Ohio RN license REQUIRED at submission
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Preferred:
• Oncology or hematology experience
• NIHSS certification
• ONS chemotherapy certification (NOT required)
• Previous travel experience

• First-time travelers accepted (must be screened prior to submission)
• Floating required within oncology units
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Locals accepted at same rate
