Job Summary

This part-time Land Intern role is a great opportunity for a local college student currently studying real estate development, infrastructure, or public-sector projects. The Land Intern will support projects and activities related to identifying, evaluating, and securing real property interests for development in California and Nevada. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real estate transactions, feasibility studies, due diligence, entitlement processes, and coordination with landowners, agencies, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with researching potential land acquisition opportunities using public records, GIS tools, and online databases
  • Support Land Acquisition activities by making contact with landowners, public agencies
  • Support preparation of property profiles, site maps, ownership summaries, and valuation data
  • Help track landowner communications, agreements, and project milestones
  • Assist in organizing due diligence materials including title reports, environmental documents, and zoning information
  • Conduct market and comparable property research
  • Support coordination with surveyors, appraisers, attorneys, and government agencies as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal databases and spreadsheets
  • Participate in team meetings and assist with presentations or reports
  • Perform general administrative tasks related to land acquisition projects

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current/Continued enrollment in a college or university (preferred majors: Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Geography, Business Analysis, Environmental Studies, Civil Engineering, or related fields)
  • Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Able to coordinate information and follow up on structured deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (GIS experience a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Interest in real estate, land development, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects

Physical Demands:

Lifting/Carrying: Under 25 lbs = Occasional; Up to 30 lbs = Rarely 

Work Environment:

Combination of office and field work (field visits may require walking uneven terrain and in inclement weather)

Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods. Potential opportunity for occasional travel 

Salary Description
$25-$28 per hour
