Position Summary

Liaison between Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Program Management. Responsible for developing production schedules for the Plaistow Facility based on available material and labor capacity. Lead material review meetings each week to communicate shortages, priorities, or issues to Manufacturing and Program Management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  

  • Work with the Program Managers, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Manager to create a Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Manage and develop production plans based on customer demand.
  • Review and release work orders as applicable with PM Team, to meet production plans ensuring adequate material quantities are available through the proper use of material profiles.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain concerning purchase items that impact the MPS or Production Plan.
  • Communicate all changes to the production schedule to the Program Managers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain (if changes are customer driven, not supplier driven, i.e. expedite requests), and manufacturing support functions, securing approvals and authorizations as required according to the production scheduling guidelines.
  • Work all Supplier RMAs until resolution is completed. (PM’s will handle customer RMA’s) Production Planner would be involved with coordinating MFG efforts associated with customer RMA’s.
  • Resolve obsolete/End-Of-Life part issues with the Program Managers and Supply Chain.
  • Review on hand material status at inception of work orders. 
  • Involved with cycle counting.
  • Report, analyze, monitor, and disposition any excess material in conjunction/coordination with the program manager.
  • Review contractual due dates on all POs with PM and Manufacturing Team.
  • Attend production status meetings as required.
  • Work with online material ordering system as applicable.
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Participate/attend all New Product Introduction reviews as required.
  • Help support AOP (annual operating plan) creation. i.e. budget


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; Associate degree required or actively enrolled in a program of related field
  • Five (5) plus years of progressive experience in the production planning/master scheduling function(s).
  •  Effective communication skills both written and oral.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams
  • Proficient with material resource planning systems and software, Visual Manufacturing preferred.
