Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support pharmacological services by assembling, labeling, stocking and distributing medications.
- Support pharmacological services by monitoring inventory by maintaining appropriate inventory by following established levels and storage procedures.
- Verifies prescription refill requests by reviewing original prescription form and patient identification to determine if refill is authorized, based on the number of refills remaining and established time requirements.
- Conducts periodic audits and notifies supervisor of reordering requirements.
- Verifies inventory received against the invoice noting any inconsistencies and communicates inconsistencies to the pharmacist.
- Checks and stores prepackaged medications; restocks shelves and maintain neat appearance of inventory and work area.
- Complies with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
- Contact appropriate medical office personnel by telephone or message slip, as needed, to obtain refill authorization.
- Counts and/or pours dosage into appropriate container and attach prescription label and refill instructions.
- Maintain records on prescription fills. Includes processing prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is accurate and complete. Interprets, and accurately enters data regarding prescriptions into EPIC.
- Respond to the requests of patients and healthcare providers, answering questions and referring various inquires to the Pharmacist.
- Bills third party insurance plans accurately and resolves rejected claims in a timely manner.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
- Continuous sitting, standing, walking.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or an Associate or Bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, required.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certification, required.
- Current Oregon and Idaho state licenses or be able to obtain them.
- Have a current American Heart Association BLS (can be obtained during the onboarding process).
- Minimum 1 year supply and inventory management skills. Preference is as a pharmacy technician or a similar clinical professional.
- Knowledge of a 340B program, preferred.
- Experience with EPIC, preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
