The Large Group Coordinator is responsible for leading and developing the large group experience at a campus level within Abundant Life Kids Ministry. This role shepherds, equips, empowers, and develops a team of Large Group Leaders communicators to create dynamic, Christ-centered large group environments where every child knows they belong, believes in who Jesus is and what He’s done, and becomes more like Him. 

This position ensures that large group leaders are effectively engaging children through a dynamic Biblical teaching, and worship experience, while following the provided curriculum with excellence and creativity. The Large Group Coordinator collaborates closely with central services, Children’s Ministry Leader, the campus pastor, and the campus team to maintain consistency, spiritual intentionality, and alignment with the mission of Abundant Life.

• Be committed to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18; 1 Peter 2:2) by assembling for instruction in God’s Word and engaging in the personal study of God’s Word. 
• Responsibly use the resources at your disposal to foster the mission and vision of Abundant Life (1 Peter 5:1-4).
• Participate in an Abundant Life group (Acts 2:41-42) as well as the discipleship ministry (Matthew 28:18-20).
• Live in a way that glorifies God and aligns with the staff core values (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
• Be committed to giving to the needs of the saints (2 Corinthians 8:1-7 & 9:12).
• Become a member of Abundant Life.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Lee’s Summit Children’s Pastor/Ministry Leader to align Children’s Ministry with the mission and ministries of the church. 
• Execute Sunday services alongside the campus team and Thursday services at applicable campuses. 
• Set up new volunteers in Planning Center, Rock, and other relevant systems. 
• Maintain accurate volunteer and ministry databases, including Planning Center and Rock. 
• Provide consistent communication to all Large Group Communicators through weekly emails, texts, and other approved channels. 
• Enforce and maintain all child safety policies and procedures to provide a secure, trustworthy environment for every child participating in ministry activities. 
• Strategically schedule and manage volunteer teams for Sunday and Thursday programming using approved scheduling and database tools. 
• Lead and develop a team of volunteers who deliver engaging, age-appropriate large group experiences for children. 
• Coach, encourage, pray for, and provide spiritual leadership to Large Group Communicators and Kids Worship Volunteers. 
• Lead pre-service huddles for the Large Group Communicators and Kids Worship teams at each service to equip volunteers, review service elements, and conduct service run-throughs. 
• Equip team members to align with the vision of Abundant Life Kids and disciple children effectively. 
• Ensure Large Group Communicators follow the provided curriculum and teach in a dynamic, biblically sound, and age-appropriate manner. 
• Create environments where children feel welcomed, valued, and encouraged to grow in their faith. 
• Collaborate with Central Services, the Campus Pastor, and the campus team to ensure consistency and excellence across all large group experiences. 
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for Kids Worship and Large Group Communicator volunteers. 
• Support in planning and executing Kids Ministry events. 
• Partner with parents in raising up the new generation of kids to discover and deepen their relationship with Jesus. 
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned in alignment with the mission of making disciples and serving families well. 

Skills and Qualifications

• A deep personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a calling to disciple children through worship and biblical teaching. 
• Proven ability to lead and inspire volunteers in creating environments that foster spiritual growth and lifelong faith in Jesus. 
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, volunteers, and staff. 
• Experience in worship leading and/or teaching in a children’s ministry context. 
• Highly organized and spiritually discerning. 
• Collaborative team player with the capacity to work closely with others. 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other administrative tools.

Education/Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in worship leading, teaching, or volunteer leadership within a children’s ministry context is required.
