Description

Day in The Life

  • Route, schedule & track LTL Shipments. 
  • Work on various TMS reports, managing your time to ensure reports are completed.
  • Make decisions on how to process lost or damaged freight.
  • Analyze information regarding the customers’ transportation requirements, lanes inbound & outbound, pricing and logistics to come to the best solution. 
  • Solid knowledge of which carrier is best for the customer’s needs.
  • Various projects as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
  • The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned.  

Education/Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. 
  • Completion of postsecondary education is preferred, not required. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Solid decision-making skills. 
  • Sound judgement and discretion, knowing when and how to negotiate terms. 
  • Self-starter and highly motivated. 
  • Coachable. 
  • Ability to multi-task. 
  • Attentive to detail and deadlines.

  • Organized in a fast-paced work environment.  
  • Strong PC, phone skills and excellent customer service skills.

Physical Expectations 

  • Sedentary work – sit at a desk, use a computer and a phone for most of the day.
  • Repetitive motion – type on a computer, write or dial on a phone.
  • Hearing – be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Talking – expressing or exchanging ideas by speaking when necessary.
  • Visual – be able to see a computer screen, read reports and/or information.
  • Pushing, pulling and/or lifting objects 25lbs or less.
