Who we’re looking for:
We seek an experienced and passionate Learning and Development Specialist to join our Learning and Development team. In this dynamic role, you’ll be instrumental in facilitating impactful training programs that support the onboarding of new hires and the continued professional growth of current employees.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of instructional design expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed. You’ll be responsible for assessing training needs, designing and delivering learning experiences, and ensuring all programs align with VBG’s strategic goals, including preparing team members for career advancement and leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging, interactive training sessions (in-person, remote, and hybrid) for both new hire orientation and ongoing employee development.
- Conduct training needs assessments and serve as an L&D business partner to support departmental learning goals.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and department leaders to design and update product-specific and professional development content.
- Utilize diverse instructional techniques, such as classroom training, virtual workshops, e-learning modules, and role-playing exercises to ensure inclusive learning experiences.
- Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and performance improvement planning for new and existing team members.
- Track attendance, test results, evaluations, and retraining needs in alignment with compliance and performance standards.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date training materials, including participant guides, job aids, and digital content.
- Model VBG’s core values and act as a mentor/resource for new hires as they acclimate to the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in learning and development, with a strong background in onboarding, professional development, and training delivery in a call center or high-volume service environment.
- Advanced understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training lifecycle best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead full-cycle training projects—from needs analysis through post-training evaluation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and classroom/virtual facilitation skills.
- High attention to detail, excellent critical thinking, and the ability to adapt content for varied learning styles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, and familiarity with LMS and e-learning tools.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain discretion, professionalism, and composure in high-pressure situations.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Instructional Design, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant experience in a professional training role may also be considered.
