Job Summary

The Senior Fund Accountant plays a key role in the ongoing financial stewardship of Roers Companies’ investment funds. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of fund-level accounting, reporting, and compliance activities, while partnering closely with internal teams across finance, asset management, tax, and investor relations.

This role requires a strong technical accounting foundation, sound judgment, and the ability to move comfortably between detailed execution and higher-level analysis. The Senior Fund Accountant is expected to take ownership of core fund accounting processes, proactively identify and resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems, controls, and reporting practices. A hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset and a willingness to dig into complex or unfamiliar issues are essential to success in this role.


Responsibilities 

  • Prepare quarterly and annual fund financial statements.
  • Ensure accounting and financial records are accurate, timely and retained.
  • Preparation and oversight of quarterly NAV and portfolio reconciliation process; investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Oversee the general ledger accounting activities, which may include journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Preparing and reviewing fund forecasts, performance estimates, attributions, and other ad-hoc projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data recorded in the general ledger.
  • Research technical accounting issues as they arise.
  • Ability to research and answer tax questions from investors and other stakeholders. 
  • Assist in collecting relevant data and documents required for investor onboarding.
  • Prepare/review responses to information requests from investors in the business, providing portfolio and financial information as needed.
  • Maintain  detailed capital account balances for partners.
  • Calculating management fees, distributions, waterfall allocations, and IRR.
  • Preparing and reviewing expense allocations and payments.
  • Assisting in review of investor statements and internal reporting.
  • Coordinating with external auditors for the year-end audit process.
  • Responsible for REIT compliance and related quarterly and annual testing.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude translating accounting guidance into practical business advice.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • REIT experience is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Ability to research and understand tax rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects, processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. 

Compensation and Benefits for Senior Fund Accountant:


Pay Range:  $89,100 -  $111,400 

Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role.
